Why Chargebacks Cost More Than the Refund
A chargeback is never just the disputed amount. Every one carries a processor fee, usually in the $15 to $100 range, and every one counts against the ratio the card networks use to decide whether your merchant account stays open. Cross the threshold and you enter a monitoring program with monthly fines. Stay there and the acquirer closes the MID.
The card networks built pre-dispute alert programs to give merchants a way out. When a cardholder calls their bank, an alert is sent to the merchant first. If the merchant refunds inside the window, the case is resolved and the chargeback never posts. The catch: someone has to watch three different alert portals, find the matching transaction, issue the refund, and report the outcome, all inside a tight deadline.
FloPay does all of that for you.
How It Works
Enroll once. FloPay handles the rest.
Enroll Your MIDs
Register each merchant account with its descriptor variations, BIN, CAID and MCC. Turn on Ethoca, RDR and CDRN per MID. Multi-store and multi-MID businesses are supported.
Alerts Arrive
FloPay pulls new alerts every hour over a rolling 30-day window and stores each one once, with the full network payload attached.
Refund & Report
Matching alerts are refunded through your gateway automatically, then reported back to the network as stopped so the case closes and no chargeback posts.

Talk to SalesFrequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need separate contracts with Ethoca and Verifi?
No. FloPay enrolls your MIDs through our dispute-alert network partner, so one enrollment form covers Ethoca, CDRN and RDR. You choose which programs each MID participates in.
-
What happens if the alert cannot be matched to a transaction?
The alert stays open in your inbox for a person to review. You can refund it manually, report it as already refunded, or report that it cannot be refunded with a reason. The outcome is sent back to the network either way.
-
Can I turn off automatic refunds?
Yes. Auto-refund is a per-business setting. With it off, FloPay still finds and displays the matching transaction so your team can decide, and the daily digest still goes out.
-
Does this replace representment?
No. Alerts prevent chargebacks from posting. For chargebacks that do post, FloPay tracks the case, its due date and the response document so your team can respond in time.
-
Is there a per-alert fee?
Alert network fees apply per alert received. Contact sales for pricing based on your volume and dispute history.
